david l. abbott, ma, mt-bc
David Abbott, MA, MT-BC, has masters degree in music therapy from NYU, and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Expressive Therapies at Lesley University. He is also a certified MBTI (Myers-Briggs) practitioner and has a certificate in Sound and Music Facilitation from the New York Open Center. David has experience working with a wide range of clients and patients in a variety of settings, including the Lincoln Center Moments program, the National Council of Jewish Women New York, Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital, and the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy. David has a post-masters certificate in the creative arts therapies and trauma treatment from the Kint Institute and has published and presented on the role of music therapy in supporting resilience in the face of trauma. David completed advanced training in the treatment of professional musicians at the Music and Health Clinic at the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and received a certificate in Guided Imagery and Music - Level I from the Association for Music and Imagery. David is a board-certified music therapist and a member of the American Music Therapy Association.
